Carey has spent over 20 years of his life serving small churches across the U.S. He's been a Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, Associate Pastor, Teaching Pastor, Elder, Solo Pastor, Lead Pastor… he's worn most of the ministry "hats" possible and feels humbled that he's gotten to do ANY of it.

Carey grew up in what he refers to as a "partially-Christian" home and wasn't especially adept at anything related to the Christian faith or religion, though he did attend a strict, legalistic church all of his childhood.

He now works as a Lead Pastor in Bismarck, ND, publishes a Daily Devotional podcast (the Morning Mindset) and is humbled that as of April 1, 2025 - it's being published in FOUR languages (English, Spanish, Hindi, and Chinese).

Carey is a husband of one, Dad of 5, father-in-law of three, Grand-Pop of 7, and "Dog's best friend" to one.
