My wife and I were high school sweethearts and then went off to separate colleges (NC & VA) thinking that if our love was strong enough that it would last through our college years. 2 years after college we got married and started trying to have a child 2 years after that. 7 years of trying to conceive the infertility doctor told us that our chances of having a child of our own was less than 1% and that we should now focus on adopting. The adoption process didn't work out and the lawyer that was suppose to help us went out of business and never did anything to help us adopt a baby. We thought that all hope was lost until one night while working at Circuit City, a couple came in to buy all new appliances & electronics for their new house that was under construction. I spent several hours helping them pick out all of their new appliances and electronics and they insisted on paying in full even thought they were only required to put down a 10% deposit. Our conversation eventually turn into starting a family and I told this couple about our journey and how every option turned into a dead end. They ask me if I was a christian and I told them yes and they asked if they could pray with me. Of course I said yes and they left me a prayer and suggested that I pray this prayer every night.
I started praying this particular prayer every day and 2 months later my wife (Mary) was pregnant with our daughter Mariah.
I was so excited that I immediately picked up the phone to call them only to discover that their phone was not in service and we were never able to find them to deliver their appliances and electronics or provide a refund. We searched the address that they provided only to find out that is wasn't an actual address.
We tried everything possible to locate this couple but never did. Not only did God answer our prayers but I truly believe that he sent angles to guide us through these infertility problems. I think him everyday for his blessing and the miracle of Mariah!
